Option to Remove Associated Media When Deleting a Game

Currently, deleting a game from your LaunchBox library does not remove any associated media such as box art, screenshots, videos, or manuals. This often results in leftover files that need to be cleaned up by running the media cleanup wizard at a later stage.

Feature Request:

Add a way to optionally remove a game’s associated media at the time of deletion. Whether through a prompt or integrated into the deletion process, this would give users more control over what’s kept and what’s removed when managing their library.

Benefits:

  • Prevents media clutter after games are removed

  • Helps maintain a clean and efficient library

  • Reduces time spent manually managing unused files

  • Frees up disk space, especially in large collections

Here’s a mockup of a 'delete associated media' checkbox which could be added to the game deletion confirmation window, as shown below:

    Hi Folks,

With today’s release of 13.25, this feature has now been implemented. You can now choose whether to delete associated media files when removing games, with a new checkbox and safer file handling

Thanks for bearing with us while we got this implemented. For more info on this release, check out the summary here:
